Chelmorton in the Derbyshire Dales and within the Peak District National Park boasts some of the oldest drystone walls in England and we are delighted to give you the opportunity to learn the ancient art of drystone walling at its most basic level in some of the most beautiful countryside in Derbyshire.
Over the course of the day you will be guided by experienced, friendly instructors who will explain the process. You will do part of the construction of a length of wall and most importantly you will get the confidence to tackle your own small project or go onto develop your skills further. We have national coverage as far as visitors are concerned and we like to welcome people from far afield. Many of our course members have arrived as a result of a birthday present or Christmas present and as a result of a voucher gift.
You will be involved in the construction of a wall from start to finish and will experience walling in the Peak District National Park and will be part of the conservation of an area of outstanding beauty. In short, you will have a genuine taste of the Derbyshire Countryside .
- Our courses are unique and provide firm knowledge with a countryside experience in the purest sense.
- The courses make great presents and we provide vouchers for that unusual present.
- Accommodation can be organised and camping is available on site within walking distance of an excellent hostelry.
- Prices: £65 per person with lunch and refreshments provided.
The course dates for 2023 are now complete. The dates for 2024 will be published in January.
If there is a group of at least 6 people, we will make every effort to arrange a course date to suit, outside of the scheduled ones.
